The (Cobra) radar detector turns itself on when the ignition is at or past the 2nd position (accessories), and then returns to off when the engine is turned off.
Wired up a LED to let me know when my radar is going off because when going over 50 mph it can’t be heard. Sorry about the crappy cell phone quality.

Cobra XRS 9540 RD vs. Construction Sign. About 10min before this video i past this location and there was a PSP sitting shotting K-Band radar about 100ft in front of the sign. Another reason why i figure the V1 would be excellent for this. Thank god i wasn’t in a hurry. I knew the sign was there, but the PSP was a surprise waiting for speeders. Sorry for the terrible quality.
