The Escort Passport 9500ix beats the Valentine 1 in every conceivable way. For once, according to Radar Test’s site, the Valentine 1 emits an excessive number of false alerts. On the other hand, the 9500ix not only ignores false alerts, but also stores the strongest ones in its GPS database. Speaking of GPS, Valentine 1 does not have it. Therefore, it cannot alert a driver to nearby photo-enforced radar cameras. Go to Radar Roy’s Buyer’s Guide for more information.
Any well executed speed trap can beat a radar detector but seldom are speed traps that sneeky. A laser jammer, radar detector, CB and common sense can beat 99.9% of speed traps.
Honestly, I drive the speed limit in most places. The only times that I intentionally speed are wide open highways with little or no traffic and when I have an excuse (even then I keep my speed reasonable for conditions). Can you really complain about my driving officer? I’ve yet to cause a major wreck.
Yea, this guy just wasted his money. These things are so worthless even the expensive ones like Valentine and Escort. For me the Cobra and Rocky Mountain brands are the best. The Rock Mountain brand jams all 15 or 16 bands radar and laser and vascarr.
Agreed, it should beat the V1 but it won’t smoke it. Does a CI smoke the V1? No and they will be identical. Let’s be realistic until testing comes out.
I might be inclined to sell my ix and upgrade if this thing is for real (and it probably will be).
Got it tuned up and it is much better but didn’t get it updated. I don’t want POP and I don’t want the J out alerts since the V1s can J out actual. 3.812/3.813 version V1s are the best ever made.
LOL V1 ghosting at it’s worst. Dude, send it in to Valentine Research for a 1.8 hardware upgrade and the 3.872 software. You will be much happier once it’s calibrated.

@htownfx I didn’t. I used them interchangeably for a few months before I sold the 9500ix. I liked both but prefer the V1.

@claya91 I haven’t heard any complaints. If you have a problem with the 9500ix and its sensitivity to radar, then why are you keeping it?
June 19th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
@htownfx Every conceivable way… except actual sensitivity to radar?

You don’t need a detector if the pigs can’t catch you in the first place… Peace 5-0…
June 20th, 2010 at 2:29 am
@claya91 I don’t rely solely on a detector to intentionally break the law. I use it as a tool.

Because 400 was too much and I wanted a pre-pop 3.812. It’s basically a 3.813 which is arguably the best revision made by Valentine.
June 20th, 2010 at 7:04 am
45+275==320 brand new 400 why not pay 80 more for a brand new one?
June 20th, 2010 at 7:29 am

Are you gonna switch off X-band? (false alerts)

Factory “I” test

$45 so not that much. It’ll be good to go when it gets back.
June 20th, 2010 at 10:30 am
How much does a tuneup cost?
June 20th, 2010 at 11:11 am
Congrats . . . just keep it down, no tune needed. hehe . . . Good luck with the cat and mouse game.
