Passport and long gun registry – silly laws

I forgot to bring our passports on this trip so there was no quick hop over the line. To me the US passport requirements are as silly as the Canadian long gun registry. A US passport requirement will not keep out the people it is intended to do so. The Canadian long gun registry has not kept guns from being smuggled into Canada or out of the hands of criminals. As with most of these knee jerk reaction laws, it is the honest citizens that obey the laws and bear the financial burden of implementing them.

Your right it is silly… But actually we do have gun control in the United States… The government has a huge database of all legally owned guns. But you are correct, none of the gun laws in any country affect criminals… I mean if they are already breaking the law they’re not going to worry about breaking another pertaining to firearms. I agree; it’s crap. The system’s a joke; they can’t stop gang shootings…when that system first came in, the staff at the firearms centre didn’t even know what they were talking about half the time. Some of those staffers have probably never even been to a rifle range.
