Learn why GPS in a BEL (Beltronics) or Escort radar detector is huge advantage over conventional technology. We compare examples of each, the Escort Passport 9500ix and the Valentine One (V1) to see which is more effective and the better traveling companion.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

I was coming into a small town and a local cop was in a SUV was running constant on K band radar the Escort 9500ix did a good job picking it up.

problem is- it still goes beep— you still left guessing– no excusei have owned both 8500 x50 a 9500i and a 9500ix— and 2 v1s, vs. 3.789, and 3.872 — v1 has way better range and when it goes beep your not left guessing– in fog thats a make or break deal– escort is a great brand– imo Valentine one is better

@durand001 It has been documented several times this has happened. I’ve seen once where a cop was using C/O K band and another guy had his 9500ix lockout a door and continued to lock out the real frequency.

  6. durand001 Says:

@protias The chance that it is the same frequency is so unlikely.

    gps would be dissabled

If your local cops routinely park underneath the door opener–not on the street–and use the same radar gun each time, there’s a chance the Escort will ignore it. But they’re probably more conventional and run radar on the roadway instead. Also, you’d likely have noticed them had you tripped over a marked cruiser blocking your entry to Walmart.

mmm.. so it locks it out after 3 times… so what if i cop sits in the same place… 3 times in a row? or you drive passed the same place… 3 times… lol… where i’m at most of the cops use the same locations for speed traps.

  13. protias Says:

Just wait until a LEO is sitting at your local CVS with a K band radar gun.

  14. LidarDan15 Says:

Wait a minute…is this on your way to Highlands, NC?? If it is, there is ALWAYS a cop sitting at the crest of the first hill. ALWAYS. I go there regularly and have yet to not see a cop there!

    @rockyb8663 :( Oops, my mistake.

  16. rockyb8663 Says:

@rrdtogo No it was my 2 year old son making noises in the back seat , LOL.

  17. rrdtogo Says:

Good range by the 9500ix. Boy did the ramp up skyrocket!!
:D Did I hear a dog in the background?

  18. 401RoadWarrior Says:

Normal detection range for a high-end detector, your 9500ix is running super properly… I guess you need to drive thru rural areas in order to get some REAL K alerts, as soon as you get closer to major urban areas or on any interstate, Ka everywhere!
