I was speeding on …
I was speeding on the other side of the road, and when I saw him, I slammed on the brakes only to see that he was shooting laser the other way. So I made a U-turn, and hoped that he would shoot me so my detector would go off, but he didn’t because as soon as I turned around, that guy flew past me, so the cop shot him instead.
The detector I was using was a Passport 9500i. It’s a good detector, and can detect radar up to 2.5 miles away depending on where you encounter radar.

I had a 9500i it …
I had a 9500i it had a weak laser reception when shot with a PL3. And it had firmware problems and took forever to aquire GPS signal. So i got a v1 and adapted it to a cheetah gps mirror along with a zr4. It is a much better set up than what i had with my 9500i set up.

The 9500i is unique …
The 9500i is unique in that its reception of laser is extremely WEAK. If you mount it low, you will get a better chance of picking up laser, but less detection of radar, but if you mount it high you will get a better reception of radar, but little to no reception of laser…With mine, I would hardly receive laser alerts anyway no matter how low I mounted it, and it almost got me caught several times so I gave up on attempting to acquire laser alerts, and mounted high. Good luck with it, man.

honestly, I didn’t realize that he was going that fast, and since the officer was right ahead and I was the only car on my side, it would have been apparent that I tried to warn the cars traveling in his direction if they suddenly reduced their speed. The officer could have known by re-checking either cars speed at which point they’d have slowed down substantially from the first clocking; that’s a ticket.

yes, there are devices that can be used to detect a radar detector (i.e. VG-2 and Spectre III), though they aren’t in use in Georgia because radar detectors are legal.
