My 9500i beats my buddy’s V1 on a Ka alert in Washington State. It’s only by a split second, but it still alerts first. It also ramps up faster.

Good advice, …
Good advice, however the LONGEST distance of the alert would be the winner, at least in my book.

Bad testing guys. …
Bad testing guys. You should always cut one detector off and test it based on your odometer. The two detectors actually cause interference between each other. Do a test with one detector on and one off. mark your odometer and the one with the shortest distance wins. Nice video though. Both radar detectors are awesome regardless of which one you choose to drive with.

Yep, just a split …
Yep, just a split second difference… Just a small difference in height between the two detectors! Just so that you know, the 9500i has sucky ramp-up software. So don’t be shocked that it ramped up faster.. other RD fans might laugh at you if you tell them that the 9500i ramped up faster than the V1. No !

The Valentine One …
The Valentine One detects radar and laser from further away than any Bel or Escort product. You can’t use two or more radar detectors at one time because they interfere with each other and affect each other’s range. Also, the Bel ramps up quicker because it has sucky fast ramp-up so that you have no idea how close the actual cop is unlike the Valentine One with a perfect linear ramp-up.

even if it was just …
even if it was just for s n giggles keep in mind that your not supposed to run 2 different radar detectors together unless it’s an undetectable one such as the STi. You looks range otherwise

Yeah it could be …
It wasen’t really a “scientific” test, just for s and giggles. Bottom line is that both alerted before visual contact which gave us lots of time to slow from 71 MPH to the 60 MPH PSL.
Yeah it could be the mounting position. It’s so close, it’s really not an issue as too detection superiority. Both units are tops and unbeatable in range

That split second …
That split second faster alert time could be due to the fact the the 9500i is mounted just a slight bit higher on the windshield, just a thought. I own a 9500i and my friend owns a V1 and we did this same test and they were very similar to alert distances. Two great detectors.
