the x50 is good on laser detection but still they will have you no matter what unless you have a jammer. ive persoanlly have had better results mounitng mine high…anyways if i mount it low i cant reach it because of the windshield being far away..guyoflidar even said the higher the detector the better radar reception the lower the better laser. so i guess its personal preference
