if you are getting … if you are getting a full blast of k band its the speed sensors inbedded in the roadway that read vehicle speeds which in turn is used by chp caltrans to keep and eye on traffic backups….
I haven’t however, … I haven’t however, in some places construction and even EMS vehicles are equipped, very rare, with a radar device (K Band) in which alerts people what’s going on down the road. Some radar detectors (like Cobra) can actually display the name of the construction/EMS vehicle, but its a useless feature since a radar detector is used to avoid a ticket and not for that reason. Because the escort X50 doesnt have this feature it still picks up the K Band which is used to transfer the information.
I have the 8500 x50 … I have the 8500 x50, and for some reason on the interstate highways it picks up K band and goes nuts as it approaches the lighted construction road displays that give updates to road conditions. U experince this with yours?
