The cop was probably using the hawkeye radar unit, that unit is used primarily here in az, the unit consist of 2 radar antennas, and the cop has the ability to make both k, or ka or switch it up, the advantage that escort has over other units is you can get both like you experienced. other units only detect one at a time. back that unit up with the ZR3 or 4 and you will be good to go.
