Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector (Black)

This unit is my initial radar/laser detector, thus i do not have the other points of reference — however this unit will everything I wished, and it will it fine. The GPS functionality is very valuable – and an excellent plan to feature into such a detector. the flexibility to mark speed traps, also as upload red light/speed cameras from Escort’s database is terrific. Most of all, the unit’s ability to be told and eventually eliminate false alarms is nice & works fine. I generally get an honest range of X-band false alarms, however only if the majority do not drive random routes that differ daily, the unit learns quickly and is in a position to eliminate most of these false alarms. i do not use it a lot of for town driving — solely on my long distance journeys. This unit has already purchased itself, in my opinion, in saving me on variety of occasions. If you merely rely entirely on this unit alone, and not be an aware driver, you are still about to get a price tag – simply a matter of your time. However, if you stay aware and even have this unit, you will be far better off. At the tip of the day, it isn’t a guaranteed “ticket avoiding” system – since all it takes is one bike officer with a laser, and you are sunk. Keep that in mind :)

Also, take care the unit is level once you mount it (or place it on your dash) for optimum sensitivity. If it’s off kilter lots to the left or right, or vertically, you are degrading the sensitivity — it takes minimal effort to level it, thus i might advocate doing that. I actually have a bit mini-level that I purchased, and use it anytime I place this unit on my dash – to make sure it’s level. Takes all of five seconds.

This unit was expensive – however in my opinion, worth it. It’s well created, and looks to perform very well.

Passport and long gun registry – silly laws

Author: admin  |  Category: escort 9500ix radar detectors

I forgot to bring our passports on this trip so there was no quick hop over the line. To me the US passport requirements are as silly as the Canadian long gun registry. A US passport requirement will not keep out the people it is intended to do so. The Canadian long gun registry has not kept guns from being smuggled into Canada or out of the hands of criminals. As with most of these knee jerk reaction laws, it is the honest citizens that obey the laws and bear the financial burden of implementing them.
