I also believe that … I also believe that Valentine’s patent on the arrows and rear antennae expires in a couple years, which would be the downfall of that company. I like to think of the V1 as an old Shelby Mustang and an Escort 9500ix as a Ferrari. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. If they combined the V1 and 9500ix and sprinkled the stealth technology from the BEL STi, that detector would be near perfect.
I think the V1 is a … I think the V1 is a great radar detector, and would probably be the best but it is so aged. The detection technology is outstanding, but the BEL’s/Escort’s are “smarter” detectors. If you live in and around a big city a V1 would probably not be the best idea since its so sensetive and doesn’t have very good filtering, not to mention everytime there’s a firmware update you have to send it in. The 9500ix you just plug into your computer and you can update it, plus the red light/speed cameras.
360 degree … 360 degree protection is a marketing slogan for every radar detector maker excluding the Valentine One because it really can detect radar 360 degrees.
The only way that a … The only way that a Bel or Escort detects radar from behind your vehicle is if it bounces off something and into the front antenna. The last rear radar detection test that was held showed the Valentine One beating Bels and Escorts by over 2 miles in rear radar detection because of the dedicated rear radar antenna that is patented on the V1. The side arrows on the V1 go off when you pass the source of radar and the front and rear antennas detect a signal at the same strength.
Not necessarily, I … Not necessarily, I have an Escort 9500ix it still senses radar signals 360 degrees but it has one bi-directional antennae while the Valentine has 2 antennae. Basically if the front one picks up something then the front arrow lights up then if the back one picks up something then the back arrow goes off. Not really sure how the side arrows work. But if you have a BEL/Escort, as long as you have a strong signal going, I think the average person would still slow down even if they don’t have arrows.
I love when people … I love when people say that the arrows are useless or gimmicky. People with a Bel or Escort would be speeding up after the first cop and receiving a ticket from the second one.

No it doesn’t …
No it doesn’t detect VASCAR, that’s why it stands for VISUAL Average Speed Computer And Recorder. Good save by the V1 though.
